Here are a dozen secrets of success in the pulpit or in any public public speaking situation.

THE SPEAKER

checkbox Appearance —pleasant, neat dress, natural posture

checkbox Eye contact —with audience effective

checkbox Voice —pleasant and effective (tone, pitch, modulation, volume)

checkbox Words —well chosen, articulated, pronounced

checkbox Notes and visual aids —used effectively

checkbox Mannerisms —not obvious and not distressing

checkbox Nerves —under control and not an embarrassment

checkbox Rapport with audience —without over-projecting personality

checkbox Time —well managed without clock worship

checkbox Preparation —thorough and evident to audience
